WHAT IS ARMORED COMBAT?
Imagine men and women strapping on 40-90 pounds of armor and fighting each other with steel weapons. In the last few years, a new sport has emerged that puts an entirely new spin on the martial arts world. While the sport may owe a portion of its existence to the natural evolution of historical re-enactment groups, it is a far cry from that original form. This new movement demands a level of fitness and training intensity on par with any other full contact sport. Its participants are expected to face their opponents in a system designed to offer very few restrictions. In fact, it is far easier to list what they can't do.
Are the weapons real?
The weapons are made of steel with a blunted edge for safety. Nonetheless they are real steel weapons that strike with force.
